About Rachael Wright

Licensed Professional Counselor & Registered Play Therapist

Rachael Wright, LPC RPT - Professional counselor specializing in play therapy

My Approach

In counseling I seek to work collaboratively with clients to create treatment goals. Based on those joint goals I incorporate skill building, mindfulness, and expressive activities so that you can feel empowered to manage ups and downs, find calm, and express feelings in a healthy way.

Experience

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor who's been serving North Texas families since 2009. My unique background combines psychology with studio art—because I believe healing and creativity go hand in hand.

As a Registered Play Therapist with over 3,000 hours of supervised experience, I've learned that children often communicate best through play, while teens and adults may connect through art, conversation, or a combination of approaches.

Throughout my career in community clinics and private practice, I've helped people navigate life's toughest moments—from anxiety and depression to family changes and learning challenges. I've led support groups, provided crisis intervention, and developed creative therapy programs.

Whether you're a child struggling with ADHD, a teen dealing with family conflict, or an adult facing depression or divorce, I'm here to help you find your path forward.

How We'll Work Together

I believe we all possess the inner resources to manage life's events and stresses, but sometimes we need help accessing them. Through the therapeutic relationship, I can help guide you to discover and utilize your strengths while providing support during difficult times.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT helps identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. This evidence-based approach is effective for treating anxiety, depression, and many other mental health concerns.

Play Therapy

Specialized therapy for children using play as the primary mode of communication. This approach allows children to express themselves naturally and work through challenges in a safe environment.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Incorporating mindfulness techniques to help clients develop present-moment awareness, reduce stress, and build emotional regulation skills for long-term wellbeing.
